Offering a shift to only one worker
If you need to offer a shift to a specific worker for them to optionally accept – look no further! Here’s how.
- Complete the shift details. You can also choose to publish multiple shifts or recurring shifts.
- Under Publish to, select Specific.
- Click Offer shifts to be accepted by workers.
- Choose the worker and click Publish.
This is the standard shift publishing functionality for publishing to a specific group of people. But the difference here is selecting only one worker to publish to. You may also wish to leave a note to the worker explaining that the shift is only available for them.
Like publishing shifts normally, the worker must accept the shift on Emprevo to be locked in. If you don’t want to give the worker the option, assigning the shift is more appropriate (see below).
Assigning a shift
Although shifts are by default offered to workers to optionally accept, if you don’t want to give the worker a choice you can assign the shift instead.
- Complete the shift details. You can also choose to publish multiple shifts or recurring shifts.
- Under Publish to, select Specific.
- Click Assign a worker to their regular shifts.
- Choose the worker and click Publish.
The assigned worker doesn’t need to accept the shift. It will be automatically accepted and appear in their calendar. They’ll be notified that a shift has been assigned to them.
Can’t see the worker in the drop-down list? Make sure the worker is available during that time and that they are qualified for the shift (e.g. correct role selected, correct location).
