You have the option to un-assign a worker from the accepted shift and republish the shift to another worker. Once you un-assign a worker, they will be sent a cancellation email / push notification. 

Please note that if you republish to the same group that the unassigned worker belongs to then they might be receiving the notification again. (i.e if you publish to all eligible or shortlist group that worker belongs to)
